     1999 OBITUARY: Lela M Garriott, 77, a homemaker of 2406 Poplar Lane, died at 2 pm Monday, Oct 4, 1999, in Home Hospital. She had been in failing health several years and hospitalized since Oct 1.
     Born Aug 14, 1922, in Lafayette, she spent most of her life in Lafayette and graduated from Jefferson High School. Her marriage was to W Arlon Garriott on Feb 3, 1968, in Crawfordsville, and he survives.
     Also surviving are two sons, Thomas McDonald of Clarks Hill and Robert McDonald of Lafayette; a daughter, Penelope McDonald of Lafayette; a brother, William Snyder of Lafayette; and three sisters, Lois Bryan and Joan Lisko, both of Lafayette, and Dolly Server of Las Vegas.
     Surviving are 2 granddaughters, Elizabeth Rich, Caroline McDonald; 2 great-grandsons, Bryan Cochran, William Rich. A sister, Rosemary Layton, preceded in death. Memorials to the Lung Association.

     2010 OBITUARY: W Arlon Garriott, 77, of Lafayette, died at 1:03 am Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at St Elizabeth Central. He was born March 9, 1933 in Jasper County to the late Hurby and Lilly Hurley Garriott. On Feb 3, 1968, he married Lela M McDonald, and she preceded him in death on Oct 4, 1999. He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
     Surviving are a stepdaughter, Penelope "Penny" L Sturm (husband: Cyril) of Lafayette; two stepsons, Robert B McDonald (wife: Sherry) of Lafayette and Thomas McDonald of Clarks Hill and a brother, David Garriott (wife: Norma) of Lafayette.
     He was a US Army Korean War veteran.
