     1940 Powersville, Putnam Co, MO census: has (all b. MO) Beecher Gatrel 49, Stock Buyer-Livestock; Mabel Gatrel 36; Floris Jean Gatrel 17; Donald B Gatrel 14; and Arnold L Gatrel 12.

     1972 OBITUARY: Mabel Florence Gadberry was born August 31,1903. She was the daughter of Jack and Ida (Garriot) Gadberry of Powersville, MO, and departed this life February 29,1972 at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital.
     She gave her life to Christ at an early age and all her life was devoted to the sick and suffering, first at the Monroe Hospital and later at the Monroe Manor.
     On September 6,1921,she became the bride of Beecher Gatrel and to this union four children were born: Warren C Gatrel died in infancy in 1924, Floris Jean (David) Choate, Donald Beecher Gatrel and Arnold Lee Gatrel. She had 2 daughter-in-laws: Rita Merle (Payne) Gatrel and Donna Mae (Dole) Gatrel. She left many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and infant son. On January 03,1969, she was united in marriage to Charles A Collins.

     1933 OBITUARY: Henry T Gatrel, son of GW and Martha Breeze Gatrel, was born March 1,1848 in Bracken County, Kentucky and died at the home of his son, Beecher in Powersville, MO, May 14,1933, being at that time 85 years of age. In the fall of 1862, at the age of 14, he came to Putnam County and has lived here all these years.
     On September 25,1867, he was married to Mary Ann Louder, and to this union was born nine children; Amos, who lives in Kansas; Martha of Kansas City; Eva of New Mexico; John and William of Iowa; James, Cordia, Julius and Beecher of Powersville. Most of his life was spent in the livestock business in which he became a good judge of its worth. Besides his sons, daughters and grandchildren he leaves a host of friends by whom he was well liked because of his jovial disposition for he was a kind father, a good neighbor. A short funeral service was held at the home Monday afternoon conducted by RD Eaton. Afterward he was tenderly laid to rest by the side of his companion, who passed away several years ago.
