     1995 OBITUARY: Howard F Garriott, 59, of 574 Courtland Ave, died at 3:15 pm Thursday, Nov 16, in his residence. He had been in failing health for the past year. He was born 18 Sep 1936 in Rensselaer. He was raised in Mulberry, moving to Lafayette in 1957. He was a graduate of Mulberry High School and retired in 1986 from the Lafayette Fire Department after 24 years. He held the rank of assistant chief when he retired. He had also worked at Michael Golden Lab and at the Bio Science Department in Lilly Hall of Life Sciences at Purdue.
    He married Carol S Hoffman on 5 Oct 1957 in Lafayette. She is secretary to Lafayette Mayor James Riehle. He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, Knights of Columbus, Firefighters Union local 472, and Retired Firefighters Association.
