MILITARY: 23 Noble entered the service on 26 Apr 1918 at Salem, Washington Co, IN. He was a corporal [US 2.890.297] in the US Army, 12th Trench Mortar Battery Artillery. He separated from the service on 5 Feb 1919 at Camp Zachary Taylor, KY.
PENSION: 23 In his pension application [C1.635.064] he stated that he injured his lower back in his childhood, about 8 years old, when he fell down a flight of stairs. He continued to have pain in that area his entire life. In his application he stated he had 120 acres in two locations where he raised sweet corn and soybeans on the 20 tillable acres. He had chickens, sold eggs, did truck work and driving for other people and chores around other farms. He was described as 5'-10", 151 lbs. [weighed 172 @ age 36], grey eyes, and brown hair.
He was awarded 25% permanent disability in 1931 of $12 per month.
