     1993 OBITUARY: Peggy L Petty, 53, Salem, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. A native of Scottsburg, she was a former sales clerk for GC Murphy in Salem, a former manager of the Fiesta Motel in Salem, a member of the Walnut Grove Christian Church in Salem, and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 286.
     Survivors include her husband, James H Petty; her father, Edwin W McKnight of Salem; a son, Jeffery Petty of Annapolis, MD; a daughter, Jane Petty of Indianapolis; four brothers, Larry G McKnight of Phoenix, Ariz., James E McKnight, Donald R McKnight and Garry D McKnight, all of Salem; a sister, Linda Motsinger of Ellettsville; and two grandchildren.
     Services will be conducted today (Saturday) at 2 pm at the Hughes Taylor Funeral Home in Salem with Bro. Loren Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery.

     2012 OBITUARY: Mr Haskell Ray McKnight, 88 of Seymour, formerly of Salem, passed away December 19, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side. Haskell was born in Scottsburg, IN on March 13, 1924, the son of the late Wardie and Anna (Hubbard) McKnight.
     On January 20, 1945 in Scottsburg, IN he married Rosella K Atkins. Mr McKnight was always a jolly man who enjoyed camping, trout line fishing, watching parades and helping build the floats. Not only was he a volunteer for the fire department in Scottsburg he was also a clown. During WW2 Haskell served his country in the US Navy. He was retired from Maintenance/Security at the Farmers Citizen Bank in Salem. He was a member of The Church of Christ in Seymour.
     Haskell is survived by his wife Rosella, his son Terry (Debra) McKnight, grandchildren: Lucinda Estes and Chad Bauer; great grandchildren: Damon Estes, Deonna Estes, and Chad David Bauer. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Edwin McKnight, Morrison McKnight, and Foster McKnight; and a sister Geneva Brunner.
