1880 BIOGRAPHY: 21 Frederick Sanchez Tereso, farmer, Sec. 24, PO Martinsburg, Benton Twp. b.-March 30, 1824 at Hackenhlin, Hessen German, his father a native of Spain his mother German. Attended grade school and high school, learned German, Latin, Greek and French. Age of 17 appointed clerk of the Courts. In 1849 he was appointed General Financial Sec until the Republic collapsed, he crossed into France then came to America, New York Sept. 1849, then to Philadelphia for 10 months in the printing business. He returned to New York when he met his parents, then to Iowa in Jackson Twp. In 1866 he moved to Benton Twp. owns 270 acres. Was in Civil War, Co. F. 33rd Inf. from June 3, 1863- July 25, 1865 discharged at New Orleans, he returned home and Dec 24, 1857?? he married Miss Matilda J Brittian, a native of Henry Co, IA. Children: Milton, Helen, Nancy, Sheridan, Viola, Theadore, and Oscar.
