     1931 NEWSPAPER ARTICLE: Glances & Observations. Quote: "Heeseler (note they use that extra third e) Thomas has given up his position in another line of business and opened a music store in the Winter Building in Neodesha, KS. Mr Thomas is placing in stock a general line of musical merchandise, radios, and will take a piano agency." There is supposed to be an extensive archive at arcade-museum.com/library/.      1932 OBITUARY: Melvin Garriott Reves, 24, passed away at the Wilson County Hospital from the effects of a ruptured appendix. The husband of Pauline Reves, they resided at 314 North 6th Street in Neodesha. He was the son of George Reves, born near Chanute, Kansas, and Ethel Garriott, born in Pueblo, Colorado.

     1988 OBITUARY: George Horner and his wife Leora Garriott Horner has one daughter, Joann Horner who married Dean Beard. According to his Loran Fawcett Funeral Home Burial Record 592, 34, and 70, he was a Veteran of World War I, serving in the Army. A Neodesha resident at 1010 Lincoln Street, he was the husband of Freda Horner. He passed away at the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 17 days, at the Wilson County Hospital. He had worked for the Frisco Railroad, where he retired from his position as a switchman.
     Born in Cherryvale, Kansas, he was the son of Elzy Horner and Nettie Lillie. A Kansas resident for 64 years, his memorial service, arranged by Freda Horner, was conducted April 26, 1988, at the First Christian Church, with Reverends Dave Cheshier and Carl Dean presiding.

     2004 OBITUARY: Former Bremerton resident Heeseler J Thomas, 94, of Snohomish died March 18 in Snohomish. He was born in Kansas City, MO, to Karl Jacob and Lala (Garriott) Thomas. He graduated from high school in Neodesha, KS, in 1927.
     In 1929, he married Anna Heath, the mother of his three sons. She preceded him in death.
     In 1974, he married Laurel Day. She also preceded him in death. Mr Thomas lived in Bremerton from 1943 to 1972. He worked as a naval electrician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 29 years, retiring in 1972.
     He was affiliated with the Presbyterian church, and served as an elder in congregations in Neodesha, Bremerton and Snohomish. He volunteered for a year in the audio-visual center of the Evangelical Church of Sudan in Khartoum.
     Mr Thomas had a lifelong love of music. He enjoyed playing saxophone and clarinet in a number of musical groups and entertained at nursing homes in the Snohomish area.
     Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Thomas and his wife, Margaret, of New York City, David Thomas and his wife, Joyce of Port Angeles and Gregory Thomas and his wife, Norma, of Phoenix; six grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.      A memorial service will be at 3 pm Monday at First Presbyterian Church of Snohomish. Inturnment will be in Bremerton under the direction of Bauer Funeral Chapel of Snohomish.
     Memorial donations may be made to the Mission Fund or the Student Scholarship Fund of Snohomish First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 298, Snohomish, WA 98291.

     1983 OBITUARY: Ethel Smalley was born June 20, 1888 in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of Joseph Garriott, born in Keokuk, Iowa, and Anna Ellen Derry, born in Vermont, Illinois. She first married George A Reves and later married Emmett Smalley.
     She passed away on Christmas day, December 2 of 1983 in Montgomery County, Kansas, probably Sycamore. Her memorial service was held at her graveside in Neodesha Cemetery, arranged by Mrs Truman Justice of Sycamore, Kansas, with Reverend Earl Perry, a Protestant, officiating. Information taken from her burial record at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home in Neodesha.

​     2007 OBITUARY: From a close relative: Probably the oldest Neodesha High School graduate passed away December 12, 2007. Ramona Charlene Ayars Reves, NHS 1932, died at the age of 94. She was the wife of Tom A Reves (d. 2004) and the last surviving daughter of Charles & Minnie Ayars. Sent by her daughter, Pamala Reves Drake. Neodesha Derry Fulton was Pamala's great, great aunt (and the first white person born in Neodesha).
