1997 OBITUARY: Samuel Clay Garriott, 84, died Saturday of congestive heart failure at his home. Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery. Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet is handling arrangements.
Mr Garriott, who was born in Millgrove, MO, lived in Hemet for 17 years. He served in the US Navy from 1944 until 1946. He was assistant chief of grounds at Sawtelle Veterans Administration Hospital in Los Angeles. He was a 32nd degree Masonic and a member of the Elks Lodge, Shriners and American Legion, all in Hemet. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 12. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Pauline, and two brothers, Bill of Brentwood and Phillip of Reno, NV.

2008 OBITUARY: Gladys Irene (Berry) Garriott passed away in Oklahoma City on January 11, 2008 at the age of 93. She was born in Logan County near New Blaine, Arkansas on May 22, 1914 to Albert C and Mary Ethel Horn Berry. Gladys was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Anna Mae McMinn and Violet Sue Faulkinbury; and a brother, Thomas William Berry. She is survived by 2 sisters, Juanita Halbert and husband Ken of Fort Smith, AR, Billie Jo Ferguson and husband George of Pottsville, AR; brother, Glendell L Berry and wife, Evelyn of Paris, AR; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, January 14, 2008, at the Advantage Branstetter Chapel with entombment following at Resthaven Gardens.
