BIOGRAPHY: Amos Hall, a native of Vernon Twp, Jackson Co, IN, was the eldest son of James H Hall and Leah Hougland. After receiving his education in the common schools of Jackson County, he entered farming. He was a member of the IOOF and had passed through all the chairs. 7,27
His father, James H Hall, was a native of Georgia, and his mother, a native of Scott Co, IN. The father was one of the pioneers of Vernon Twp, Jackson Co, IN, having come when there was yet, "Not a stick amiss." He remained here until his death in 1873. 7,27
Amos had a brother James H Hall, Jr [b. 16 Aug 1835], who married Mary Gillaspy, a native of Jackson Co, IN, on 27 Mar 1856. They had four children: John S, Amos, Sarah E, and Lafayette. James Jr was a member of the Masonic fraternity and was justice of the peace for 12 years. 7,27
1991 OBITUARY: Blanche Spall, 98, formerly of Jacksonville, IL, died at 6:20 am today at Jackson Park Convalescent Center, Seymour. She was ill for 8 years. Membership: Central Christian Church, Jacksonville, IL Moved back to Jackson County in 1981. Retired teacher, teaching at Uniontown; was a teacher and counselor in Jacksonville for 45 years. Graduate of Terre Haute Teachers College with advance work at Purdue & Illinois Universities; Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, White Shrine, Garden Club & 63 year member of Eastern Star; past president of Professional Women’s Club, Jacksonville.
Born 3 Geb 1893, Uniontown, to Albert & Florence Hall Spall.
Survivors: nephew, Tom Spall, 2 nieces & great-nephews & nieces & great-great-nephew & nieces. Preceded in death by 3 brothers & a sister.
Funeral: Sunday, 12 May 1991, Voss & Sons Funeral Home, Seymour; burial at Unontown Cemetery.

2019 OBITUARY: Clebert L “Bill” Kinney, age 82 of Paris Crossing, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Seymour Crossing. Born October 23, 1936 in Scott County, he was the son of Hubert “Bill” and Margaret (Redman) Kinney. On August 5, 1956 in Uniontown, he married Helen Marie Foster.
Bill retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1988 and then worked several years farming with Dave Schepman and family. He was a member of the Uniontown Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Trustee and served on the Uniontown Cemetery Board. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved IU Basketball. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Helen; children, Sandra (Craig) Kuehn and Karen (Jerry) Owens both of Seymour and Clinton “CD” (Susan) Kinney of Paris Crossing; grandchildren, Rebekah (Glenn) Hickey, Judah (Elizabeth) Kuehn, Nicole Amper-Kuehn, Jessica (Calvin) Phillips, Hannah (Jon) Schroeder, Mariah Kinney, Carissa Kinney and Calin Kinney; great-grandchildren, Ella, Levi, Jacob, Noah, and Scarlett; siblings, Marcia Bush of Sheffield, AL, Danny (Beverly) Kinney of North Vernon and DeEtta (Marvin) Chasteen of Austin. Bill also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Earl “Bud” Bush.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 11, 2019 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until service time. Burial will follow at Uniontown Cemetery. Memorials can be given at the funeral home in Bill’s memory to Go to Nations Missionary Fund for Native Pastors or the Uniontown Cemetery. 2019 OBITUARY: Helen Marie Kinney, age 80, of Paris Crossing, passed on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on October 22, 1938 in Seymour to Everett C and Nellie (Metz) Foster On August 5, 1956 in Uniontown, she married Clebert L “Bill” Kinney.
Helen was retired after working years at US Shoe Company and Cerro Wire. She was a member of the Uniontown Baptist Church where she served as a deacon and song leader. Helen enjoyed working, traveling, being around people, flowers, gardening and doing canning with her family. She also enjoyed listening to all types of music and her trips to the Derby Dinner Playhouse with her sister Doris.
Survivors include his children, Sandra (Craig) Kuehn and Karen (Jerry) Owens both of Seymour and Clinton “CD” (Susan) Kinney of Paris Crossing; grandchildren, Rebekah (Glenn) Hickey, Judah (Elizabeth) Kuehn, Nicole Amper-Kuehn, Jessica (Calvin) Phillips, Hannah (Jon) Schroeder, Mariah Kinney, Carissa Kinney and Calin Kinney; great-grandchildren, Ella, Levi, Jacob, Noah, and Scarlett; sister, Doris Prewitt of Scottsburg; sister-in-law, Jan (Richard) VonDielingen of Seymour. Helen also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Edward Foster and brother-in-law, Bill Prewitt.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time. Burial will follow at Uniontown Cemetery.
