Jane Barrackman was the 2nd of James H Button's three wives. Jane died with her child at the age of 30.

JAMES' FATHER: John Button was of German descent and came from Virginia at an early day and settled between Westport and LaGrange, Oldham Co, [KY]. He served in the war of 1812 under Genera Harrison and was one of the minutemen stationed along the Ohio River. 55

BIOGRAPHY: James H Button was reared to farming and also learned tanning under a brother in Oldham. For 20 years he carried on tanning at LaGrange, when the war broke up his business. He was also in the merchantile business two years, magistrate at LaGrange 8 years, and is now the county commissioner of the poor. In 1867 he moved to Buckner's Station, where he owns a farm of 187-1/2 acres, and is engaged in it's cultivation. On 13 Dec 1839 he married Martha P Curd, daughter of Woodford Curd. She died in January 1854, leaving one son, Woodford Button, now a miller at LaGrange. On 4 Jul 1854 Mr Button married Miss Jennie Barrackman, daughter of Jonathan Barrickman. This lady died 15 Jan 1858; her one son also died. He next married Eliza Jane Morland, who has born him six children: Paul F, Robert W, Josie E, Pearl, Thomas L, and Ernest. For about 16 years Mr Button has been an elder in the Christian Church at Buckners.
