BIOGRAPHY: Daisie was not yet married when her mother, Jenney, died. She called her husband "Mr Gilley." He had been previously married with daughters named Myrle and Mamie and four other children. [Minnie Blankenship Thurman]
Giles Monroe Thurman said Daisie's family always dressed up like 'Movie Stars.' In Kenton Blankenship's obituary, Daisie is listed as living in Spray, NC [now Eden]. Daisie ended up with the family bible, which, it is assumed, was passed on to either daughter Josephine or Louise.

     1991 OBITUARY: Eden- (edited) Louise "Lou'' Gilley Suttenfield, 81, of Eden, died Wednesday at Morehead Memorial Hospital. Funeral will be at 11 am Friday at Fair Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lawson Cemetery. A native of Leaksville, she was a member of Leaksville Moravian Church and a retired employee of Karastan.
     Surviving are sisters, Jo Allan Fulcher, Evelyn Burd Gilley, both of Eden; brother, Walker Gilley of Eden.

    1992 OBITUARY: Eden- Walker Mebane Gilley, 89, formerly of 235 Cedar St died July 13, 1992, at Greensboro Health Care. Funeral will be at 11 am Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lawson Cemetery in Eden. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Eden, retired from Fieldcrest Mills and retired from Gravely Ridgeway Clock Co.
     Surviving are wife, Mrs Virgie Bowman Gilley; stepdaughter, Mrs Billie Madison of Reidsville; sisters, Mrs Jo Fulcher, Miss Evelyn Byrd Gilley, both of Eden; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

     1995 OBITUARY: Eden- Robert Lashley Gilley of Alameda, CA died November 4, 1995. He was a native of Eden, NC formerly Leaksville. The son of the late Moyer G and Beulah Lashley Gilley. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Leaksville. He was a United States Marine having served in three wars: World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was exposed to agent orange chemical that resulted in his death.
     He is survived by his wife, Leonisa L Gilley of the home; daughters, Connie G Mayott of Sacramento, CA, Patsy L Gilley of Houston, TX; son, Robert L Gilley Jr of Houston, TX; sisters, Virginia G Hobbs of Pfafftown and Shirley G Hill of Reidsville.
     A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Lawson Cemetery in Eden.The service will be conducted by his brother-in-law, Rev J Dewey Hobbs.

2000 OBITUARY: Eden- Jo Allen Fulcher, 85, of 306 Moir St, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Morehead Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lawson Cemetery. She was born Aug 1, 1914, in Rockingham County and retired from Fieldcrest Mills. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are nieces, Elizabeth "Bette'' Mitchell of Evanston, IL, and Ann Tallman of Greensboro; sister, Evelyn B Gilley of Eden; and nephews, Harry Young and Michael Young, both of Greensboro and Joseph Young of Los Angeles, CA.
